questions, answered

What to know before you configure and order your printed jaw kit.

What is included in a custom gripper jaw kit?

One complete kit contains six printed parts: two flexible TPU contact pads, two rigid carriers, and two keepers. The actuator, fasteners, and other mounting hardware are not included. Use the Exploded assembly view to see how the printed parts fit together.

Will these jaws fit my robot gripper?

Match the mounting interface before ordering. Measure the distance between mounting centers, fastener diameter, head clearance, and available jaw space. Enter those measurements under Gripper mounting, then check clearance through the full travel of your gripper. Compatibility depends on your dimensions; selecting a preset does not confirm fit.

Do I need a CAD file to design my gripper jaws?

No CAD file is needed for this jaw kit. Start with a preset and adjust the dimensions, contact shape, mounting geometry, and lattice in your browser. The preview updates as you make changes. This configurator adjusts the existing jaw design; it does not automatically fit a jaw to an uploaded object.

What jaw dimensions can I adjust?

Pad width ranges from 50–110 mm, pad height from 16–40 mm, and contact depth from 4–10 mm. Gripper mounting contains the fastener and fit settings. Advanced: lattice and fit contains the internal geometry and retention settings. Some combinations need adjustment to keep the parts compatible; follow any messages shown above the quote.

Which materials should I choose for the pads and carriers?

Use flexible TPU for the contact pads and a rigid material for the carriers and keepers. Compare material hardness, temperature limits, and the contact conditions in your application. A softer material alone does not determine how the finished pad behaves: its walls and internal geometry also matter.

Current pad options: Black TPU 85A, Black TPU 95A HF.

What do the lattice and contact settings change?

Cell size and sheet level change the gyroid structure inside the pad. Rib count, rib wall, and rib layer change its ribs. Contact waves and contact wall change the surface that touches your part. Use the Gyroid layer or Pad view, or the Section control, to inspect your changes. These settings describe geometry; the preview does not calculate gripping force.

How much weight can these gripper jaws hold?

There is no universal payload rating for a configured jaw kit. Grip depends on the actuator, part shape, contact surface, material, geometry, and motion. Check fit and test the finished assembly with your actual part and operating conditions before relying on it for a task.

How do I get a price for my custom gripper jaws?

Choose your geometry, materials, quantity, production option, and delivery method, then select Quote complete kit. The quote prices all six printed parts per kit and separates production and delivery charges. Tax is calculated at checkout. After changing the design or materials, update the quote before ordering.

Why does a quote take longer than the model preview?

The preview updates while you explore the shape. A quote also prepares the printable parts and calculates pricing for the selected design, materials, and quantity. Keep the page open while it runs. If you keep editing, update the quote for the final version you want to order.

What production and delivery options are available?

Choose Standard or Rush production, with shipping, pickup, or Bay Area courier in the quote controls. Timing depends on the parts, quantity, and production capacity. If you have a fixed deadline, contact us with your requirements before ordering.

What happens after I place an order?

Every part undergoes human review before production under AIURION’s 3D printing service policy. That review does not confirm the fit or performance of your gripper assembly. Check dimensions and material selection before ordering, and use the service policy for production, cancellation, and return terms.
